Writing and Presentation Space (WAPS)

Introducing the Writing and Presentation Space (WAPS)

WAPS is an Ebony Initiative project providing safe(r) spaces for students of Black and African Origin. This includes students of black dual heritage.

All students are invited to join our community every Wednesday for a dedicated writing space from 10am to 1pm in person at SOAS, University London. There will also be online access.

WAPS features a presentation space on the last Wednesday of each month, providing an opportunity for students and researchers in the community to present early drafts or completed papers. The presentation space is a safe(r) space to build confidence and connect with community peer support. This is a unique opportunity to share your work at whatever stage, draft to final, in a friendly and nurturing environment within SOAS.

Students are highly encouraged to attend these sessions in person. Presenters will receive valuable feedback from scholars at all stages of their academic career. Our community is expanding, and we are actively inviting scholars from other Universities to join WAPS providing an excellent weekly networking setting.

Throughout the year, EI WAPS holds events and workshops with guest speakers. To join us, please register here
