Summer Institute 2021: Creative and Decolonised Research Methodologies

Featuring a dynamic line up of leading thinkers and academics the inaugural EI Summer Institute’s interactive workshops and talks were specially designed with postgraduate/doctoral students of colour in mind. The three day programme presented an amazing opportunity for students to learn more about how to do research in liberatory ways, to enhance their personal research profiles and to have meaningful interactions with like-minded individuals.

Day 1. 24.8.21- Creative Decolonised Methodologies and Impact

Day 2. 25.8.21 – Glocal Community Methodologies and Impact

Day 3. 26.8.21- Public Engagement and Online Impact

Some feedback from attendees:

“The event was very informative, helpful and interesting. I am beginning an MSc in September and found this very useful in helping to alleviate my nervousness about starting my MSc”

“It was a joy to sit in such a run well conference. I really enjoyed the spirit and valued the knowledge and skills of the facilitators/presenters”

“The last few days have been transformative. I appreciate the organisers for your work. The speakers were fantastic varied and so generous”

“These past 3 days has confirmed how powerful and needed these spaces are. The concept of decolonising research methods in spaces which have (in the main) emerged from colonised, violent and oppressive experiences, is what some would call brave!”
