EI Summer Institute

Designed for black postgraduate students and doctoral researchers, the EI Summer Institute is one of our annual highlights at the Ebony Initiative. Undergraduate students of Afro-Caribbean descent considering postgraduate studies also find the Summer Institute a great place to network with current researchers and postgraduate students. Over a two day period, the institute features engaging and interactive workshops from leading academics, opening the door to the future of liberatory research.

The institute helps researchers of color to place a premium on research methodologies with roots in their culture and introduces them to a range of research methodologies from art, film, literature to intersectionality and ethno-ontology as research practice. With a wide participation and two successful editions since the inception of the Ebony Initiative, the EI Summer Institute is fast becoming a rally point for black academics across Europe.
